An Interview with Seth Mullins: Author of Fire Thief Reborn (Edge of the Known Book 4)

Seth Mullins

I write novels that aim to evoke the journey of self-discovery in a dramatic and emotionally cathartic way. I am inspired by various methods of inner exploration such as dream-work and shamanism, wherein one makes the inward plunge and then shares the fruits of that adventure with the wider community. This, to me, is the essence of art.

What did you learn on your journey as an author?

One of the most gratifying parts of the process for me was when I started getting reader responses and reviews and realized that so much of what I’d hoped to convey through […]

Review: Fire Thief Reborn (The Edge of the Known Book 4) by Seth Mullins

★★★★★ Fire Thief Reborn (The Edge of the Known Book 4)

Fire Thief Reborn is the fourth installment in Seth Mullins’ riveting Edge of the Known series. In previous installments, we’ve seen the band Edge of the Known struggle in obscurity and then shoot to stardom, told through the eyes of its artistic visionary, Brandon Chane. Brandon’s had his struggle in relationships, and with the artistic process, through it all. Success isn’t always an answer.

In Book 4, it’s seven years after the band’s rise to stardom. Brandon’s found the peace of an artist who’s said everything he needed to say, and reached a willing audience. He’s content, for perhaps […]

Doppelgänger: The Legend Of Lee Harvey Oswald by George Schwimmer PhD

Doppelgänger: The Legend Of Lee Harvey Oswald by George Schwimmer PhDDoppelgänger: The Legend Of Lee Harvey Oswald by George Schwimmer PhD makes the startling claim that Lee Harvey Oswald was actually two people: Lee Harvey Oswald, who did the shooting, and Harvey Oswald, who took the blame. As the cover suggests, they’re similar-looking people – and they had similar lives as well. Both were agents of the CIA, and both were embroiled in a conspiracy to assassinate the president, thereby negating the “lone nut” theory.

Told compellingly in the first person from Harvey Oswald’s point of view, the book doesn’t merely rely on photographic evidence, which can be somewhat dubious, […]

Not Fit For Human Consumption by A.P. Filosa, Psy.D.

Not Fit For Human Consumption by A.P. Filosa, PSY.D.Not Fit For Human Consumption: Triggered Traumatic Memories and the Violence Profile by licensed Clinical Psychologist A.P. Filosa focuses on the myriad problems that trigger our worst impulses, and how we can ultimately overcome them. Beginning with the claim that the book is the “CURE TO HUMANITY’S ILLS,” it’s a wide-reaching treatise that can help those suffering from traumatic experiences, and especially those prone to violent impulses.

Though the book can certainly be used as a self-help book, it takes the macro approach to personal issues – there are societal issues at play in personal psychology that are ingrained and […]

From Canaanites to Israelites by Rudolph C. Evans

From Canaanites to Israelites by Rudolph C. EvansFrom Canaanites to Israelites: The Journey of Ancient Near East History from Realism to Idealism by Rudolph C. Evans is an overview of the Canaanites contributions to theology, as well as their cultural and historical achievements. The Canaanites have gotten short shrift in the historical narrative, and Evans aims to alter that perception in this comprehensive work of scholarship.

Beginning a prospective work of history with “It is my belief that…” perhaps makes it less persuasive than just outlining the facts, but the research in the book is solid and thorough. Evans describes his book as a “Nietzschean interpretation of […]
