Tessa Dick Needs Help

Tessa Dick, who we’ve reviewed and interviewed on this site, needs help:

I’m losing my home, and they’ll probably turn off my electricity this week. I will therefore be out of communication for a while. I can sleep on my brother’s couch, but I will have to have my dog and cats “put to sleep”. Such a soothing phrase for killing my pets!

Laura Leslie has made her mother an executive at Electric Shepherd Productions, a highly paid d0-nothing job. She has made her sister Isa Dick Hackett a movie producer. She has made me a pauper. Shame on them!

I am entitled to half of the royalties for A Scanner Darkly under the agreement that Phil made with me in 1976, but Laura Leslie is using her position as Trustee of the Philip K. Dick Trust to steal all of my share. I have tried to file criminal charges, but that is going nowhere because I’m poverty-stricken and Laura is not.

I haven’t been able to work for two years, due to injuries I got in a car crash. And they know it! They owe me at least $30 thousand, while I pick up cans and bottles from the side of the road to recycle, so I can buy food!

My only source of income is my own novels, and they make less than $200 a month. And Laura has made sure that no traditional publisher will touch them, by falsely accusing me of copying my husband’s work. Nobody will risk a law suit from the Trust.

I don’t have a Donald Trump to save my home, as Ed McMahon did. All I have is prayer.

So please pray for me.

Contact her if there’s anything you can do.

    Thanx, Henry.
Brief update: My mortgage company is giving me a few months’ grace.
    However, this is only temporary.
And I will lose my Internet and phone for a while.
Will get them back as soon as I can.
