Promoting Your Book
Public Group active 1 week, 2 days agoThis is a support group for self-published authors. It is my hope that we can provide tools and ideas based on our own experience on how to promote our books. Please share ideas about what has or hasn’t worked for you. Be specific. If you have had a good experience with a publicist, don’t be afraid to share that either. Let’s share our successes with one another so that we can all find successful careers as authors.

I have recently submitted my work to the writers digest self publishing contest. I don’t expect to win grand prize, but even an honorable mention would be good enough to further promote my book.

I have just self published my first book and have just started the hard work of promoting- which seems harder than anything else I have done so far! any tips would be appreciated- especially on where I can find a good sale and return agreement for local independent book shops that may want to keep some of my books in store?!

I have posted, tagged, posted, blogged, I hoofed it around to stores that sell on consignment. I’ve done everything short of holding people up at gun point and make them buy it, lol. I entered my first novel in the Writer’s Digest self-publishing competition last year and my second novel this year. So far as I know, WD hasn’t yet announced the results of this year’s competition. Thanks. My submission is the first volume of what I expect to be at least 3 volumes of a series. So best case scenario I’m hoping that my series can be picked up and continued by a traditional pub based on my self published 1st volume.
