Best darn program from Microsoft ever! All my notes go in there, with photos, side notes, character specs and more. I can photo a location and add it. Beef up a scene using a Google Map of the location that […]

That’s why there are so many different books out there – some people will find them interesting, while others will not. Sorry you didn’t like the sample, but I stick by my review, I liked it.
Your mileage may vary.

This crime drama features two very unique characters: John “Smooth” McGovern, a detective on the police force, and his partner Rita “Cheeks” Goreman. They are the homicide squad and, as in real life, they are faced with budget cuts, piles of paperwork and the fact that they must move on when a case turns up dead [...] -

And I agree with you, William. I have a few flaws in my own works as well. I can’t afford a proofreader and we do the best we can given the budget we have to work with. On the other hand, if I find myself re-reading someone’s work to try to make sense of it, [...]

See what I mean… you just can’t do it by yourself. Someone has to go in and look it over for you. Thanks. I’ll see about correcting that bit… lol.

I read through the opening pages, called “Before We Get Started” and I had the feeling I was going to be reading a book about a Blues Band from Albany. I wanted to research the material, but the link given to the band was wrong… http://WAlbanyStBlues.com should be https://WAlbanStBluesBand.com. And I am thinking, oh, boy, we [...] -

Over the past few weeks I have been concentrating on reading Kindle book files. I say concentrating because the urge to take out a red pencil and slash all the grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization errors is overtaking my urge to read. My eyes hurt. The worst ones are, sadly, self-published books. And I understand the [...] -

Having reviewed as much non-fiction as I have, you are bound to come across those who have “borrowed” other people’s work and not given them credit for it. It doesn’t happen often in traditionally-published works, but it does happen. As a green reviewer early on, I missed one that was a direct rip-off of another [...] -
Boudica Foster wrote a new blog post: Review: Shark & The Wolf: Predators and Prey by Daniel D. Shields 4 months, 4 weeks ago
I would classify this as a sci-fi thriller. The science fiction genre allows us to go anywhere we want and create anything we can imagine. Mr. Shields has successfully created an alternative earth where animals have been genetically altered to be human while retaining, to various degrees, their animal appearances and nature. Mr. Shields works this [...] -
Boudica Foster commented on the blog post Did that Bad Review Come with a Side of Ulterior Motives? 5 months ago
Actually, it is not a new ploy. This was going on with books published by publishing house for many, many years. Amazon calls it campaign voting, or fan voting. It plays pretty much the same way. You have a group of “fans” who will go out and vote en-mass on a particular author’s work. Some [...]

Wil Medlo was laid off from his job in the CIA as an analyst and now resides in Canada. He is intentionally drawn into a set of events that brings him to Chas Newbury; US “Retired” Intelligence Officer. Chas has a pharmaceutical business and a secret that he wants to exploit. But the whole affair circles [...] -
Boudica Foster commented on the blog post Beware of Free 6 months ago
Why go free? I really like .99 and 1.99 books. You still make a commission and you eliminate the riff raff who always seem to complain about anything that’s “free.” Try lowering it to a bargain price rather than free. It’s more “respectable” and people like me will pay that for a decent book that [...]

Am I having another morphine dream? Did I slip into a coma? Where am I? Interesting start to a book about Lazrina/Maya, who finds herself dead and speaking to her spirit guide Zachariah. From this point on, Lazrina/Maya finds herself in a place where she must now revisit all her past lives and live through the [...] -
