Having not read 21 Erased myself, I can’t speak to the book in question, although like you, Catana, I did wonder whether this glowing(ish) review was paid for by the author. Yagiz, would you care to disclose? Seems only fair…. That aside, I should probably comment on the trailer, since it was included as part [...]

Hi Cheryl,
I was a little worried when you left POD People, but I guess I should have known that you weren’t going far. In any case, I’m glad to see that you haven’t left the fray!
You’ll be pleased to hear that I’m currently working on a new edition of Editorial. In addition to improving the text throughout, I’m getting rid of the…[Read more]

Alan, I think it should go without saying that “if you’re writing books that are not popular with the buying public you are out of touch with the buying public.” But “quite possibly out of touch with the common man”? … Unpopular books don’t sell as well as popular ones. Since you’re “a pretty smart [...]

As a writer who’s been known to produce genre-ish books that hardly have plots or even characters, I think I can feel your pain! Maybe when I finish the 2nd edition of my book Editorial (tentatively through Bizarro Press later this year), I’ll try to make sure there’s at least one instance of action for [...]

Henry, It could well be that “book snobs are taking longer to get on board with the e-revolution”, and that one reason for this is that harder-to-market “literary” titles are more likely to need the help of established publishers in getting off the ground. If this “e-revolution” is largely driven by self-published genre fiction, and [...]

Patrick,
I wanted to let you know about the short story anthology Etienne DeForest is putting together for his fledgling Bizarro Press. Apparently he’s been having a hard time collecting quality submissions, and so he’s asked me to scout around the web for potentially interested authors. After looking up your book, Panoptica, I thought you…[Read more]

Hi Arthur,
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check it out… not sure if I’ve got anything to hand, but the timelime looks promising so I might have a go at turning something out. depending on the timing might be able to cook something up. There are a couple of forums I go to (games & SF) that I will repost this to.
THanks for thinking of me!
Cheers

Good for you Matt! The end results of my promotion were priceless. My five day free run shoved me into the #8 best seller in historical romance. I had over 6,200 copies downloaded. Since the five-day promotion, it has increased my sales on all levels. I’ve had increased hits on my website, increased positive reviews, [...]

I use a website called Grammarly.com. It’s great for not only grammar, but it highlights text that matches anything on the Internet or elsewhere. It also gives you the reference to add, if you need to give credit where credit is due. It’s somewhat helpful.

Well, I for one was very skeptic over the KDP select. However, out of a moment of madness I pulled one book off Smashwords distribution out of my three fiction novels and opted into the game. Today started my free five-day promotion on my historical romance novel. This morning alone my book has been download [...]

No, I am never far away from the fray. I just choose not to indulge online very often. I felt bad about leaving the Podpeople, but there just isn’t enough time in the day most days. Running a magazine takes up a lot of time, so I couldn’t do both. I still read and review indie books, just on my own terms, and I choose the books. It was getting…[Read more]
