After working in marketing for over 35 years, I think the one thing I have learned is that there is no magic bullet. But kind of like the weight of a snowflake, eventually enough of them will even cave in a roof. I am on many social networks where I have maxed out. I have [...]

If you’re publishing strictly in ebook format, do you still need hard copy advance review copies to send out?
Depends on the reviewer: so, yes. Arcs are still print only at many outlets.
You will need print copies for promo, even if e-books are your chosen medium. It helps to have advanced copies, plus autographed copies for giveaways, etc. if you choose to do them.
I’m publishing ebooks only. As far as reviews go, if you don’t charge anything for your book, I’ve found you get lots of reviews. In fact, I had so many reviews that I decided to start charging a fee for my main book.

I basically ended up re-writing it prior to release. 2) International distribution is being stickier than I had thought. I can’t seem to get listed in [...]

There’s a lot to be said for networking. At a Pacific Northwest Writers Association workshop attendees were advised to have an email list of 100 contacts who were interested in (a) You; (b) or your genre; (c) books in general – you get the drift. So, loving Excel, I built a worksheet with the columns [...]
