Katherine Gilraine resides in New York City. Never being one to sit still, she spent plenty of time writing on and off before sitting down to pen the first installment of The Index Series in 2006 as a college senior, between a night shift job and 18 credits. She continued writing the series and began publication in 2009.

In her spare time, Gilraine travels, listens to jazz music, drinks entirely too much caffeine, and updates her blog.
