N. A. Kay, born on 1987 April 28 in Toronto, Ontario, started his academic career on the halfway mark – he generally received fifties. He went to a generic grade school, and his efforts went to fitting in and trying to be decent at sports. He marginally passed these as well. Kay entered a religious private high school with twenty other classmates – he graduated with eight. Most of his high school was spent pursuing a line of reasoning that fit with his perceived reality and trying to hone his skills as a guitar player; music was his way of trying to impede his troubled thoughts and emotions. After graduation, he went abroad. During his two year stint overseas, N. A. Kay rekindled a wavering old friendship which led to his decision to pursue a career in fiction writing; Kay’s friend lent him a book. Before this, Kay shied away from reading due to his sub-par reading and comprehension skills, but he trusted his friend and went for it. With a pocket sized Oxford’s English dictionary from home and Steppenwolf in hand, Kay began his first journey into the world of fiction. After reading Hermann Hesse’s masterpiece, Kay decided that fiction writing held a solution for all of the conflicting aspects within the universe. He started to read with true fervor, and soon after began writing his first book. When he returned home to go to a local university, by the end of his first year, he had completed the novel. Due to the heavy workload and a part time job, Kay squeezed in as much time as he could afford in trying to get it published. After six months of rejection, Kay returned to his writing board. With the completion of a third book, N. A. Kay decided to try and self-publish; Chicken Butt; The Story of a Man was completed during 2009 but its publication would not be until early February 2010. With a profound respect for the written word and for those who endeavor to read it, Kay marches on with his early steps on a hopefully bright future career.
