About

Writer turned performing artist, back to writer. In the performing arts I started out as a professional dancer at Disneyland, taught tap dance for a while, got into acting and modeling, and later added voiceover. Made some dough doing all of those things but I’m about as small-time as you can get and still collect a paycheck. Even that has slowed down. This economy is tough.

It was while working in a few indie films that I became intrigued with the notion of writing screenplays. I joined the Northwest Screenwriters Guild and worked on learning the screenwriting process for a while. I learned a lot. But honestly all that did was make me long for fiction novels. Every time I had to shorten my ideas to fit a 110-120 page screenplay, it felt like some of the best stuff was being left behind. I kept putting away my ideas and starting over on a new screenplay, thinking I would use those ideas in a novel “someday”.

My last published writing was co-authoring a collection of short stories with my husband for the young adult market. We made a great team! It was in the 90’s within the Christian Publishing industry, but I am not a Christian any longer. My beliefs have changed dramatically from those days, and I am actually an agnostic now.

Self-publishing has come a LONG way since the days when I was paying attention to the publishing industry. I have never been at the steering wheel before. I’m new to this part but I’m absorbing as much as I can, as fast as I can. I am quite excited about it!

Wow. Three publisher bankruptcies? My condolences. But I'll bet that toughened your skin. At this point I'd like to contact you directly. I'll send along a message to you. Glad you have so much experience to share in this area. It's very encouraging.

I use a Mac, and my iPhone is surgically attached to me… or so my friends have commented. I’ve been an Apple fan for many years now. But I gotta tell ya I love, love, love my Kindle. Nothing else electronic has ever felt so good to my eyes. I truly get that “lost in [...]

I've been trying to locate that contract for a few days. I'm starting to think it got lost in our last move.
And yes, a new book is being hatched!
But the reason this came up was that I recently discovered that there has been a growing (if small) demand for the old book and old [...]

Does anyone have any experience with a reverted copyright to their book? My publisher went out of business in 1998 and my book has been out of print ever since. Now I'd like to self-publish it in digital format but I don't know if I own the copyright, or if the copyright is owned by [...]
