This page instructs you on how to implement the changes we require to promote your ebook with our Amazon KDP Bestseller Packages.
Please note that if you do not change your categories or price in time, you will lose your booked date and go back to the end of the line.
SETTING YOUR PRICE
1. Log into your KDP account: https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/
2. Navigate to your book, and go through the Book Details until you get to the price, and change it to 99 cents for best results, or any other price up to $2.99.
NOTE: If you prefer, you can pay a supplement for the extra costs incurred to promote a higher-priced book up to $4.99 for larger packages and $9.99 for smaller ones. This supplement ranges from $30 – $700 depending on the price of your book.
Contact us now if you don’t want to drop price.
ADDING KDP CATEGORIES
Please note that if you do not change your categories in time as instructed, you may not reach your ranking.
Note: This procedure has changed since June 2023.
We will send you an email with up to 3 categories to change to in an email approximately 48 hours before your promo. They will look something like this:
- Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > … > …> …
- Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > … > … > …
- Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > … > … > …
1. Log into your book admin account on Amazon KDP:
2. From your KDP Book Details page, you can choose up to three main categories for your book and will display within 24 hours of your change.
3. Refer to the KDP help page here to change your categories
4. Add the categories we have given you. You can do this by category, subcategory, and placement
5. If your book is YA, teen, or kids, please add the max and min age groups
6. Let us know when your categories (and age group, if applicable) are showing up live on your page
If your publisher/distributor refuses to change categories because it is not a BISAC code, tell them this:
To meet their requirements, tell them they can do this:
1. Match the first, broader part of the category given, e.g. Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks >Mystery, Thrillers, Suspense > Thrillers to their BISAC code category
2. Use the rest of the categories given as keywords in the Amazon KDP admin Keywords box. E.g. Small Town, Murder
This will map the book to the category as given, i.e. Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks >Mystery, Thrillers, Suspense > Thrillers>Small Town>Murder
If they still want a BISAC code instead, let us know and we will find you the nearest match.
If your publisher/distributor refuses to change categories point blank, you have three options:
1. Ask them for control over your KDP Book Admin and do it yourself
2. Let us know and we can convert your package into a sales/review-only package, and try and boost your book anyway, but you will not have the Bestseller status if you cannot follow the terms and conditions.
3. Suspend your promo until you can argue it out with your provider.
