Hindsight by W.D. CountyA timeline-twisting thrill with a sinister splash of the occult, Hindsight by W.D. County is a supernatural mystery driven by an enigmatic pair of investigators.

Nathan Ember may occasionally feel cursed by his ability to see one day into the past, but it makes him a great PI and the begrudging asset to a suspicious police force. Galena Torres is a psychic who can communicate with restless spirits, and while she is convinced that Nathan is actually a ghost, they cautiously join forces to unravel the truth behind a heinous crime. As they search for an embezzling reverend, hunt a maniacally cackling killer, and try to reconcile their Venn diagram of past and present, these empowered sleuths find themselves growing closer than either ever expected.

The dynamic between Nathan and Galena is tense and engrossing, with both protagonists independently driving the plot, keeping romantic elements secondary to the case, but their personal lives inevitably seep into the professional partnership. Their unique crime-solving powers also add original flavor to the storytelling, and while some of the temporal mechanics can get confusing, particularly when past and present versions of characters overlap in a scene, the author makes the paradox-heavy narrative easy to follow.

Gritty, provocative, and laced with unpredictable drama, this novel surges forward with well-crafted suspense and ominous momentum.
