Born in Buckfield, a rural town in Maine, Ben grew up reading Tolkien, Stephen King, and Charles Dickens. When he went to college at the University of Maine at Farmington, he published his first piece of fiction in the local college journal. Over that time, he has researched psychology, evolutionary biology, organizational best practices, leadership decision making, business, technology, finance, and philosophy to understand how the world as we know it works and why.
Stephen J. Ethier has a lifelong interest in science fiction and fantasy. He has published over 35 non-fiction books. This is his first novel, for which he designed the cover art. Ethier lives on the east coast of Canada with his wife of 37 years, Christine, and their three fur babies, Frodo, Tessa and Tinkie.
Brian Meehl is the award-winning author of seven novels, including the vampire comedies, Suck It Up and Suck It Up and Die. Blowback ’07 and Blowback ’63 are his first two books in the Blowback Trilogy. Prior to penning novels, Brian enjoyed a successful career writing for television, winning three Emmys, and performing Muppets on Sesame Street and in Jim Henson films, including “The Dark Crystal.”
Marti Ward is an award-winning teacher, researcher and entrepreneur known for his serial startups and his interdisciplinary work from the behavioral, health and information sciences to environmental and robotic engineering – but he writes under several variants of his name. Marti hasn’t been into space yet, but has traveled extensively on this planet – living in half a dozen countries and speaking and reading a variety of languages with varying degrees of fluency. He hasn’t yet built an AI as sophisticated as Al – but is working on it, and has around 300 publications relating to AI.
Growing up loving horror and mystery tales, JC Bratton’s Freshman effort in the world of fiction pays homage to the Point Horror novels she would read as a kid: stories such as Slumber Party by Christopher Pike and Twisted by RL Stine. Some of her biggest influences are Alfred Hitchcock, Lois Duncan, Stephen King and Richard Matheson. JC does have a day job but would really be excited if Netflix would make a movie based on her first short story. JC resides in the heart of Silicon Valley: San Jose, California.
Brandon T. Keaton is a self-prescribed Peter Pan who adores cats and dogs. Penchants for gummy bears and action figures have followed him around his entire life. He currently resides in Wellington, New Zealand, and is loath to discuss himself in the third person, but he can be persuaded to do so from time to time. Transference is his first novel.
