He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer Officer with the West Pac Ground Forces, 1967-1968, and from 1970–1994 as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Primary duties involved Foreign Counterintelligence Matters – Soviet Union in the New York, Newark Field Offices and FBI Headquarters as a Supervisor of Foreign Counter Intelligence Operations.
